Welcome! Loren is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and to the best of his ability he’ll capture that experience here. However, the views expressed in this blog are his own and are not necessarily representative of all things Mormon, expect anything different and he might get cranky, soldier boy crank that superman type cranky. It’s ok though, preliminary forecasts indicate that there’s a 50% chance that he’s in a good mood right now. This could be your lucky day.

I’m 23 and the following all describes me: a housewife, a newlywed (April 18th 2008), a newer LDS convert (September 30, 2007), a mother of 6 turtles and 2 cats, an Aunt to 11, a sister, a college student (major: biology; emphasis: wildlife conservation), and a friend.
In the past I was a frequent journal user but now I need it more than ever. I need a place to rant and really empty my head. It’s probably very LDS oriented though, my husband is working on being refellowshipped and I need a place to put my ideas/feelings/testimonies/questions.

The Way West – 1847
The Way West – 1847
This is my great grandfather’s blog. On April 7, 1847, he left Winter Quarters, NB in the first company that was led west by Brigham Young. Inspired destination was the “tops of the mountains” after years of religious persecution. Hope was that they would be left alone there to worship God as they pleased. Writings lack in elaboration due to time/writing problems. I will be writing down his diary verbatim as he wrote it plus adding synopsis if needed.
He would LOVE to have your comments!!

Sons of Alma
And now it came to pass that the sons of Alma did go forth among the people, to declare the word unto them. And Alma, also, himself, could not rest, and he also went forth. Now we shall say no more concerning their preaching, except that they preached the word, and the truth, according to the spirit of prophecy and revelation; and they preached after the holy order of God by which they were called (Alma 43: 1-2). Bountiful Thoughts
I have the wonderful opportunity to teach Gospel Doctrine in my ward. This blog is my way of capturing the many thoughts that come from my lesson preparation — thoughts that sometimes never make it into my lessons because of time constraints or because they simply don’t fit in with the lesson objective. I hope that you will share your thoughts about the Gospel Doctrine course of study — whether you are the teacher or the student.
